Holy Spirit School is one of seven schools in the Diocese of San Jose that is participating in the
St. Katharine Drexel School Initiative (SKDI). The Initiative was launched by Bishop Patrick J. McGrath and is the Diocese’s response to the need to recommit to and bolster the levels of student academic success and to harness technology to improve student learning.
In June 2013, our Holy Spirit School faculty attended the Academy of Blended Learning at the School of Education and Counseling Psychology at Santa Clara University, which provides teacher training and support as they blend face to face classrooms, digital technology and community-based learning opportunities into their classrooms. The teachers will receive a Certificate in Blended Learning from SCU.
This initiative also included a parent engagement component. In Spring 2013, a committed and hard working group of parents met weekly to examine our school’s identity, mission, operations and financial health for long-term growth and sustainability. A plan was developed to ensure that Holy Spirit School continues to move in a positive and forward direction.
