San Francisco City Impact Immersion Trip – December 12th
Holy Spirit Parish is partnering with San Francisco City Impact for an immersion opportunity on Saturday, December 12th, to serve the Tenderloin community. As part of a pre-Christmas celebration, parishioners will help with delivering hot meals to hotel residents and help set up and participate in a Christmas party for families and children who live in the Tenderloin.
SF City Impact is a Christian based organization that has been ministering to the needs of this community since 1994. City Impact provides relief programs such as food, social services, and health care, while breaking unhealthy cycles through education, leadership training, and spiritual transformation. The Tenderloin is the poorest area of San Francisco, yet is the most tightly condensed with over 37,000 residents.
We will be one of many groups helping in this event. Holy Spirit is providing a bus for our volunteers that will leave the church parking lot at 7:30 a.m. on the 12th and will return to Holy Spirit at approximately 4:00 p.m. The number of participants is limited to 50 volunteers – 25 volunteers to deliver food and meals to the residents of the Tenderloin and 25 volunteers to help with the children’s Christmas party. While this opportunity is open to families and there is no age limit, parents should consider the maturity level of their children when signing up. All those under 15 must be accompanied by an adult. Meal delivery is limited to high school students and older.
Click here to sign up (sign-ups will open Monday, November 9th, at 9:00 a.m.) Spots are expected to fill quickly, so sign up early!
There will be a $50 fee for each participant, which will be due November 20th. Please pay via Paypal/credit card below, or by check in the Parish Office.
