R.O.P.E. stands for Reaching Out to People Everywhere, and provides money and goods to needy people, programs, and ministries throughout the world based on requests from parishioners. The committee meets every month to select the beneficiary of the monthly collection taken up on the last weekend of each month. Download the request form below to submit a request to the committee, or submit one online here: ROPE Request Form.
The July donations to our R.O.P.E. recipients totaled $1658.75. St. Joseph’s Family Center, our Skip a Meal recipient, received $330. The Good Samaritan Hospital’s ACCESS Program and St. Juan Diego Society Women’s Center each received $650.
The committee has selected the following for your August donations: Santa Clara County Friends Outside, St. Joseph Indian School, and Food for the Poor (Skip a Meal).
Friends Outside was founded in 1955 with the special mission of reaching out to the children, families and individuals who are coping with the impact of imprisonment. Last year they served nearly 16,000 clients.
A parishioner requested support for St. Joseph’s Indian School, located in Chamberlain, SD. The school provides for the spiritual, educational, emotional and physical welfare of the Lakota (Sioux) children in need.
Food for the Poor is an ecumenical Christian organization that provides food, medicine, shelter and other services to the poor in the Caribbean and Latin America. Since this is our Skip a Meal recipient, we will ask that our donations go to help feed the starving children wherever the need is the greatest.
