Prayer Shawl Ministry
Compassion and the love of knitting/crocheting are stitched together into a prayerful ministry and spiritual practice which reaches out to those in need of comfort and solace. Many blessings are prayed into each and every prayer shawl.
The shawl maker begins with prayers and blessings for the recipient. The intentions are continued throughout the creation of the shawl. Upon completion, a final blessing from one of our priests is offered before the shawl is sent on its way.
Shawls can be used for: undergoing medical procedures; comfort after a loss and bereavement; during times of stress; prayer or meditation; birthing and/or nursing a baby; joyous bridal shower or wedding gift; during an illness and recovery; tireless ministering to others.
To request a shawl to give away, call Sandy Palodichuk at 408-268-7821 or Pastoral Care at 408-997-5110.
