Rick and his family joined the parish in 1974. Rick has served as an EMOE and continues to serve as an usher. You will see Rick at the 8:00am Mass every Sunday as the Head Usher.
Rick has also served on the Facilities Committee and the Parish Council. He was chairman of the Parish Council two of the three years. He has been a member of the Finance Council for over 9 years and have been chairman for most of those years. He currently serves as Chair of the Finance Council
Rick is married and has two grown children. He retired in 2006 after 44 years with Kaiser Industries/ Kaiser Aerospace & Electronics/ Rockwell Collins. Rick has an Associate of Arts Degree in Business from Oakland City College, Bachelors of Arts degree in Management and an MBA in Accounting from Golden Gate University.
Elena and her husband, Norm, and their son, Mike, joined Holy Spirit Church in 1975.
Elena initially became involved in parish activities when she taught a few classes in the job search ministry in the 1980s. Later she joined the Parish Council where she served on several committees and ultimately was Chair of the Council for two years. She also chaired several “fun” raisers, in particular, St. Patty’s Day dinner/dance and casino night.
After spending 30 years in the high tech industry, in 2003, Elena retired from Applied Materials, Inc. where she was Managing Director in the Process Diagnostics and Control Product Group.
Elena joined the Finance Council in January, 2004. Elena has also served on the board of directors of several non-profit organizations and continues to volunteer as needed.
Elena has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and Psychology from Gonzaga University and an MBA from Santa Clara University. In 2000 she was honored with a Tribute to Women and Industry Award for Santa Clara County.
Frank grew up in central Washington on a fruit orchard. He graduated high school in 1953 in Yakima and married his high school sweetheart Janet Martin in 1955. She earned a PHT (Put Hubby Through), while he earned a degree in Agriculture from Washington State College in 1959.
Frank joined the Food and Drug Administration as an inspector in Seattle in 1959, and transferred to San Francisco in 1963, then to St. Louis in 1966. Transferred to Kansas City in 1967 when FDA management closed the St. Louis district office.
Frank accepted a position as Technical Director with the California Dried Fruit and Tree Nut Association (DFA) in 1974. Frank was named president and CEO of the DFA in 1981, and served in that role until his retirement in 1996.
Frank joined Holy Spirit Church as an usher in 1974, and served as Head Usher from June 1993 through fall 2006. Frank has served as Facilities Committee Chair since 1996. Janet and Frank have 4 children – Carol & Sharon, born in Seattle, Robert born in St. Louis, and Rick (who also ushers at Saturday masses), born in Kansas City. Janet and Frank have 4 grandchildren – Breanna, Robby, Joseph, and James.
