Make Your 2014-15 Stewardship Appeal Today!
Sociologists maintain that success in life is most often attributed to an “accumulative advantage” – those little encouragements we get along the way, the positive cultural influences given to us somewhere along our path. Spiritual Fitness depends on an “accumulative advantage” in Knowledge, Faith and Community.
Biologists often speak about the ecosystem for an organism to thrive. For example, the tallest oak in the forest is not the tallest tree solely because it was the hardiest acorn but because other trees did not block its sunlight, because the soil around its roots is rich and deep, because no rabbit chewed through its bark when it was a sapling, because no lumberjack cut it down before it matured.
When we cooperate with God’s grace as a group, we can create this ecosystem called a “community of faith” not only for ourselves but for all who come through our doors. It gives us that rich and deep soil for each person to grow spiritually in knowledge, faith and community. It is then our role to go forth from this community and give light to the tree of a person who needs it, to protect the sapling of young boy or girl from the eroding chews of bullies of our world and shelter others from the lumberjack of our secular world who want to cut them down.
Your financial stewardship has helped us to provide ministries that build this ecosystem for every member of Holy Spirit Parish and indeed for many beyond our parish boundaries. As we conclude our third successful year of pledged Sunday Offerings, and enter into a new year focused on increasing our Spiritual Fitness, I sincerely thank you for your gift and commitment. As an intentional disciple who regularly practices Stewardship, you know that we depend on your commitment. Our only source of income for parish ministries comes from our parishioners.
Please take the time to prayerfully and intentionally consider increasing your regular Sunday offering and making a written commitment for the 2014-15 year to Holy Spirit Parish. Your financial support allows us to plan our parish ministries and provide that “accumulative advantage” for so many in need. God has gifted us with so much and it only right to share those gifts with others who may not have had an “accumulative advantage.” I ask you to reflect on how we can go even deeper with our financial stewardship and really allow Holy Spirit Parish to grow beyond our wildest dreams and according to the Lord’s true vision.
Please make a financial pledge today by completing a stewardship card and dropping it off or mailing it to the Parish Office, or dropping it into the collection basket at Mass. As always you can pledge online through PayPal, your credit card or your online banking. Or you can now pledge through our new Evergive mobile app.
Thank you again for your continued support!
