Donations for Sacred Heart Community Service
Are you traveling this summer? Have you finished a great book lately? Is your home overrun with children’s books? We have some suggestions!
Many of you will be packing your suitcases and traveling to Disneyland, Grandma’s, Tahoe, etc. If you are staying in hotels or motels, please think of the homeless served by Sacred Heart. Put an extra plastic bag in your checked luggage and collect mini soaps, shampoos, conditioners, and lotions provided by the hotel. Sacred Heart will use these items in Survival Packs that are distributed twice a month to the homeless.
Many homeless people love to read! Children love owning a book of their own. It also helps them retain the English skills they struggled to master during the school year. Parents learning English practice their skills by reading to their children. If you have books — especially paperback books — consider donating them to Sacred Heart.
Non-perishable food and clothing is always a welcome donation.
Place any of these donations in our Sacred Heart bins located in the Parish Hall or drop them off directly to Sacred Heart Community Service—the donation station is at the rear of the building. Donated items are never sold! Thank you for your thoughtfulness!
