Catholicism: The Pivotal Players – March 2nd
All are invited to join us for a new scripture study beginning Thursday, March 2nd. CATHOLICISM: The Pivotal Players is a multi-part film series that illumines a handful of saints, artists, mystics, and scholars who not only shaped the life of the Church but changed the course of civilization. Participants will study, reflect upon, and discuss the lives of St Francis, St Thomas Aquinas, Bl. John Henry Newman, St Catherine of Siena, G.K. Chesterton and Michelangelo.
This is a 13-week session. The first session covers a general orientation, followed by two
sessions on each Pivotal Player. Each session includes video viewing and small group discussion of the Study Guide questions. To help participants get the most from their attendance, attendees are encouraged to complete the study guide questions for each week in advance. Each Study Guide lesson provides details about the Pivotal Player’s life and contributions to the culture. In addition, you’ll find “Questions for Understanding” that support the teaching in the video and reference Scripture verses and sections from the Cate- chism of the Catholic Church. You’ll also find several “Questions for Application” in each lesson to help you connect the material to your own life and experience.
We will meet from 8:15-10:00 a.m. on Thursday mornings in the Parish Hall Library. All are invited to attend. Materials cost is $20. RSVP to Elisa Baroni at firstname.lastname@example.org or 408-268-1656.
