Advance Care Planning Workshop – October 22nd
Who will speak for you if you can’t speak for yourself?
Advance care planning is not just about old age. At any age, a medical emergency could leave you too ill to make your own healthcare decisions. You need to have an Advance Directive to name the person you want to that speak for you on your behalf and who knows what is important to you so you get the medical care you want.
Discussing your values and wishes regarding medical care before a life-threatening illness occurs can reduce the stress of making decisions in a crisis. Documenting your personal wishes in advance is the best way to protect your loved ones from the pain of indecision or conflicts.
Come start or update your own Directive and play Go Wish, a card game for prioritizing end-of-life wishes.
Who should attend:
• Anyone over the age of 18 who does not have an advance directive
• People who have an advance directive but haven’t updated it in years
• Individuals who have chronic health conditions
• Families who want help having advance care planning conversations with loved ones
