Help A Young Parishioner Share Her Talents With Others
“As each one of us has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God’s varied grace.” – 1Peter 4:10
Long time parishioner Kalyani Aboud and her friend Kimberly Su are choosing to combine their gift for crochet in two different ways as their Senior Service Learning Project at Notre Dame High School.
First, the girls hope to make a difference in the lives of 15 middle school children by sharing their gift of crochet in an after school enrichment program at Sacred Heart Community Service. The youth will learn to crochet and be able to keep their crafts while their parents search for work through the Job Link program.
Second, the girls hope to share the gift of crochet with their classmates by forming a crochet club where the students of Notre Dame can make baby blankets to be donated to Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital.
To make these hopes a reality, Kalyani and Kimberley are asking Holy Spirit parishioners who see the value of sharing this craft in these two important ways to donate any amount from $5 – $50 (checks payable to Holy Spirit Church).
If you would like to help these girls share their gift by sharing your gifts, please contact Katie Metzger, Director of Shared Ministries, at 408-997-5115 or email@example.com. Or, simply drop off your donation in the Parish Office to the attention of Katie Metzger.
